Come take a stroll in the garden with me up here on our mountain this July 2017.
It’s been awhile since I’ve shown what’s growing around here… Since spring I think. I can’t believe summer is slowly coming to a close. I know, I know, nobody wants to hear that! We still have half of August and September is pretty much still summer around here. I am getting pretty anxious for September to roll around so we can meet our new little fella!
I still have a lot to do to prepare for those weeks after baby comes where I mostly sit and nurse and try to maintain some sort of dietary and sleep habits but partially fail… And this time with a 4 year old running around, I’m upping the fun even more!
But for today, here is what is growing on outside (pun intended) and maybe you can help me identify this strange bug that likes to hang out on my zinnias!
What is this??!!
My cosmos are sooo tall! They have gone crazy this year!
This is the paste tomato that I’m trying out this year. (Gilbertie paste.) I’ve not had a good tomato year. Most of these ended up with blossom end rot and my cherry tomato plants got hit with some sort of early blight or something and also, I think they were sun deprived, growing behind my bean vines.
I grew cilantro this spring and read that if you let it go to seed you get coriander, so that’s what I’m doing. It also makes such a pretty little white flower.
Love that squash! It keeps coming!
Beautiful nasturtiums intermingled in my pepper plants.
And of course, the king of the garden, zucchini! I have been eating gobs of zucchini noodles (zoodles) with marinara sauce. So. Yum.
