Did you know that if you have children aged 5 years and younger, they can receive a free book every single month? It’s TOTALLY free and really simple to sign up for! It’s an awesome way to get free books for kids to help them cultivate a love of reading!

When my first was born, I knew about this program from being a pre-k teacher and I signed her up right away.

She received around 50 books as a baby and toddler, each corresponding to her current age.

I have signed my second child up as well and now he is receiving age appropriate board books in the mailbox every month for free!

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library sends books to over a million children every month.

Her organization was inspired by her father who never learned to read or write. She wanted to do something in his honor that would make a difference for the children in her home county of Sevier Tennessee. The program just kept growing from there… It is now in all 50 states as well as Canada, Australia and the UK.

Any area where a local partner has teamed up with Imagination Library such as a library, state agency or nonprofit, has access to this service.

A team of educators and specialists pick the book titles.

They make sure that children from infancy to age 5 receive developmentally appropriate books.

The local partner pays around $25 a year for each child who receives free books.

I am so grateful for this opportunity for my kids! Receiving a book just for them with their name on it, every month  is so special!

Reading is a huge part of our daily routine around here and this just enriches and inspires that! And what a wonderful opportunity especially for the families who don’t have access to a local library!
