Add clean berries and sugar to the saucepan and heat over medium /high, stirring occasionally.
Simmer berries and sugar until berries break down and are juicy, and sugar is dissolved.
Prepare 1/2 the packet of Sure-Jell as instructions say (remembering to halve the water).
Add pectin to cooked fruit and mix well.
Pour jam into jars, leaving plenty of headspace (room at the top of jar so freezing doesn't crack the jar).
Put on lids, and cool on counter for several hours.
Put into fridge for 12 hours.
Remove lids and freeze until solid, then add lids back.
